The Role: IT Category ManagerWe are seeking an IT Category Manager to lead cost-saving initiatives, optimize procurement processes, and design the IT category strategy for NG Nordic's new procurement organization. In this key role, you will ensure efficiency, compliance, and sustainability while fostering collaboration across business platforms to establish best-in-class standards for procuring IT products and services. You will have group wide responsibility and report directly to the Procurement Director. Success in this dynamic, post-merger environment requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a passion for driving change.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and develop the category strategy for the IT category (~30 EUR mn annual spend), including items such as software, hardware and IT services
- Manage cost-savings targets for IT spend by identifying and executing cost-saving initiatives at group and platform level, leveraging synergies across platforms
- Establish and refine procurement processes, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management in the IT category
- Drive the development of a well-structured post-merger organization for IT spend by fostering strategic collaboration across platforms and ensuring adherence to best practices
- Ensure compliance with regulations, trade policies, and sustainability standards, incl. drive initiatives to comply with Group ESG goals and reduce CO2 emissions
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in procurement, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or category management, with a proven track record of delivering cost savings and implementing category initiatives, preferably related to IT spend
- Expertise in supplier selection, contract negotiation, relationship management, and contract management
- Strong analytical capabilities and experience with strategic procurement tools and methodologies
- Relevant courses and certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, or similar) are an advantage but not mandatory
- Ability to be understood in written and spoken English, with knowledge of a Nordic language considered an advantage
- Analytical: You utilize data-driven insights to develop long-term strategies and deliver measurable results
