We are looking for a skilled E&I 3D Designer with strong experience from the energy sector , preferably the oil and gas industry, to join our multidiscipline engineering team.

The ideal candidate has deep practical knowledge of Aveva E3D, including catalogue/module creation, and is comfortable developing accurate and constructible 3D layouts for electrical equipment and cable management systems. Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain 3D models for electrical and instrumentation (E&I) installations using Aveva E3D

  • Create, update, and manage E3D catalogues, specifications, and component libraries

  • Produce detailed 3D layouts of cable trays, junction boxes, cabinets, lighting, electrical rooms, and field-mounted equipment

  • Coordinate design interfaces with piping, structural, HVAC, and other engineering disciplines

  • Ensure design deliverables meet project requirements, industry standards, and best practices

  • Generate E3D deliverables such as extraction drawings, MTOs, and clash reports

  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input related to E&I layout and constructability

  • Support as-built updates and implementation of design changes through the project lifecycle

Qualifications:
  • Higher vocational education or bachelor’s degree within E&I, electrical engineering, automation, or relevant discipline

  • 5+ years of experience as an E&I designer within the energy or oil and gas sector

  • Demonstrated expertise in Aveva E3D, including catalogue creation, specification setup, and 3D modelling workflows

  • Strong understanding of E&I installation requirements, equipment spacing, routing principles, cable tray standards, and hazardous area considerations

  • Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams

  • Ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering documents

  • Good communication skills and a structured, solution-oriented approach

  • Experience from projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) and familiarity with Equinor’s governing documentation, work processes, and digital tools is required

Preferred Competencies:
  • Experience with E3D admin tasks, configuration, or automation

  • Knowledge of industry standards (IEC, NORSOK, ISO)

  • Familiarity with Aveva Unified Engineering
