4Subsea’s Drilling Monitoring department is responsible for operating and developing subsea structural integrity monitoring services for the offshore drilling market using data from sensors installed subsea and topside on drilling rigs to ensure safe and efficient execution of offshore drilling operations.

4Subsea experience an increase in activity and we therefore look for a highly skilled and passionate project engineer to strengthen our Drilling Monitoring Operations team.

Responsibilities

As a Project Engineer in the Drilling Monitoring Operations team, you will play a key role in delivering managed monitoring services to the offshore drilling industry.

Our team operates at the intersection of engineering, digital technology, and offshore operations, supporting clients worldwide in conducting drilling operations safely and efficiently.

This role is ideal for a hands-on generalist who enjoys operational responsibility, fast decision cycles, and close collaboration with both offshore crews and global clients.
Key Responsibilities

  • Be part of a multidisciplinary operational team delivering multiple digital and physical monitoring services to the offshore Oil & Gas industry.
  • Support daily operations of our monitoring services, including data collection, quality control, processed data result evaluations.
  • Work closely with customers to understand operational needs, communicate technical value, and ensure successful service adoption.
  • Plan, mobilise, and coordinate offshore installations and monitoring campaigns, including interface management between stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain work procedures, operational documentation, and technical reports.
  • Occasionally travel offshore to support mobilisation of 4Subsea Drilling Monitoring services. The role is primarily office-based.
  • Requirements

  • Engineering degree in mechanical, mechatronic, marine operations, petroleum, or equivalent) (B.Sc. or higher). Relevant work experience may compensate for formal education.
  • Strong academic and communications skills,
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English,
  • Be willing and able to travel and do offshore trips to install sensors and instruments,
  • Familiar working with Python is preferable.
