A full-time position as engineer is available for 1 year with the possibility of extension at Department of Tumor Biology, Institute of Cancer Research, Oslo University Hospital (OUS). At Department of Tumor Biology we work to improve treatment of metastatic cancer by identifying candidate biomarkers and therapeutic targets, followed by validation in preclinical models and translation into clinical trials. The engineer will be associated with the research group of Prof Kjersti Flatmark in the project group of Karianne Fleten.
The main activities will be performed in collaboration with Node Pharma, a preclinical radiopharmaceutical company developing therapies for cancer patients with limited treatment options.
Job description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated research technician. The main project will investigate the efficacy of targeted radiotherapy in animal models of metastatic colorectal cancer. You will have the chance to make an impact in an early phase of the drug development and be instrumental in generating data to reach critical milestones. In vivo experiments to evaluate biodistribution and treatment efficacy will be an important part of the job, and candidates with previous experience with in vivo experiments will be prioritized. In addition, a variety of other techniques will be used such as cell culturing and flow cytometry.
The activities include working with radioactive and cytotoxic drugs.Qualifications:
Candidates with the following competence/qualities will be prioritized:
- Master’s degree or PhD in molecular biology, biotechnology, immunology, cancer biology or relevant fields
- Certified FELASA C/CAREiN
- Previous lab experience, in particular experience with animal experiments
- Highly motivated to make a difference for cancer patients
- Result driven with a keen focus.
- Ability to multitask on several aspects of a project or on multiple projects
