About the Role
As a Workshop Assistant in NOV Downhole, you will support the service team in the repair and maintenance of drilling tools for offshore use on the Continental Shelf. This role is integral to ensuring efficient maintenance operations and the timely mobilization of tools. You will be responsible for general workshop duties, assisting technicians during service processes, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping.
At NOV, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) is at the forefront of everything we do. You will be responsible for understanding and adhering to PPE requirements, Quality standards, and HSE policies. All workshop personnel share direct responsibility for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workplace. The role requires extensive use of workshop and lifting equipment in accordance with applicable risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).

Located at Forus, Stavanger, we operate one of Europe’s key service centers, specializing in the repair and maintenance of drilling tools for offshore operations on the Continental Shelf. Key Responsibilities
-
Assist Service Technicians during the tool service process
-
Perform general workshop duties including washing, cleaning, and preparing tools for NDT inspection
-
Paint tools in preparation for dispatch
-
Support goods in/out processes, including packing and unpacking cargo baskets, inventory handling, and shipment rework

Safely and efficiently operate workshop service and lifting equipment in compliance with risk assessments and JSAs
-
Maintain high housekeeping standards within the workshop and yard areas

Participate in preventive maintenance activities to ensure workshop equipment checks are completed

Demonstrate personal commitment to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards in line with company and customer requirements
Qualifications & Skills

Education at high school level
-
Previous experience in a similar workshop or service role is preferred

Good communication skills in both English and Norwegian
-
Ability to work independently in a structured manner within a high-paced environment

Forklift licenses (T4, T5, T8) -- desirable
-
Crane license (G4) -- desirable
