We are seeking a Marine Compliance Officer to own and develop the compliance agenda for our Marine Hull portfolio. This is a key role with genuine scope to influence underwriting standards, risk quality, and strategic decisions across the Nordic and European markets.

You will play a central role working side?by?side with experienced underwriters, claims specialists and senior leadership - your expertise will directly support business growth and risk quality.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, interpret, and implement regulatory requirements (Solvency II, EIOPA, national law).

• Maintain and update compliance frameworks, policies and controls; prepare reports for management and the Board.

• Conduct compliance reviews of underwriting, pricing and documentation; run thematic reviews and file sampling.

• Oversee sanctions, AML and KYC processes (EU, OFAC, UK, UN); advise on complex cases.

• Contribute to ORSA and internal risk assessments, recommend corrective actions.

• Review major claims and reinsurance compliance, support recoveries and documentation oversight.

• Deliver training and drive engagement to strengthen the compliance culture.

About you:

• You have a degree in Law, Business, Maritime Studies, Risk Management or similar; compliance or risk certifications (ICA, ACAMS) are a plus.

• Hands?on experience in marine insurance/reinsurance, shipping or related maritime sectors - strong Hull product knowledge.

• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, sanction regimes and AML/KYC processes.

• Analytical, independent, high integrity, and an effective communicator who can translate complex rules into actionable guidance.

• Fluent in Norwegian and English; additional European languages welcome.
