Compliance Specialist
Neuver Maritime is strengthening its governance and compliance capabilities and is now seeking a structured, confident, and business-oriented Compliance Specialist.
This is a key role with overall responsibility for the company’s compliance framework, with a particular focus on anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, human rights, sanctions, and export controls. The role includes line management responsibility for Export Control and close collaboration with senior leadership to ensure compliance is fully integrated into strategy, operations, and decision-making.
You will play a central role in safeguarding our integrity while enabling sustainable growth in an international and technically advanced environment.
Key responsibilities:-
Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the company’s compliance framework

Develop, review, and update compliance policies and governing documentation

Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and ensure effective mitigation measures

Lead and manage the annual compliance program

Monitor regulatory developments and ensure timely implementation of new requirements

Oversee third-party risk management and due diligence processes

Prepare compliance reports for senior management, the Board of Directors, and regulatory authorities

Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness initiatives
-
Conduct internal compliance audits and investigations when required

Act as the primary contact point for regulatory authorities and external auditors on compliance matters

Manage compliance incident reporting and follow-up actions

Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and performance management of Export Control
-
Coordinate resource planning and prioritization within the compliance and export control function
-
Ensure close collaboration across functions to integrate compliance into systems, processes, and strategy

Contribute to ESG reporting and continuous improvement initiatives

Promote a strong culture of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct
-
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
-
Relevant and extensive professional experience may compensate for formal education.

Experience within compliance, risk management, internal audit, or legal functions
-
Solid understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks (anti-corruption, AML, sanctions, export controls)

Experience from international organizations is an advantage

Experience managing direct reports or leading small teams, preferably within compliance or export control

High level of integrity and strong ethical judgment

Analytical and structured, with the ability to balance detail and strategic perspective

Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
-
Independent and decisive, with sound professional judgment
-
Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
-
Resilient and comfortable handling sensitive or complex matters
-
Collaborative and capable of building trust across the organization
Location for the role is Norway (Aalesund, Brattvaag or Hagavik) or Poland (Gdynia).
