Look no further, MacGregor is looking for a motivated Service Engineer who will be responsible to perform and supervise service activities (refurbishment, upgrades, preventive maintenance and corrective actions) on MacGregor and equivalent 3rd party equipment.

Our professional team of service engineers ensure that the work is carried out efficiently, accurately and in a friendly manner. In addition to supporting management and the rest of the organization in necessary areas. You will also support Service overall goals and budgets, while ensuring that all activities comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS), QHSE and other rules and requirements according to MacGregor standards.

More tasks and responsibilities

● Responsible for maintaining productive team and customer relationships as well as ensuring Best
Practices are applied in all service related activities
● Co-ordinate sub-contracted assignments and report any non-compliance
● Provide information and write reports as required
● Delegate work assignments to subcontracted teams
● Follow and comply all site safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements Inspect, troubleshoot, report, plan and then conduct service or repair as necessary
● Recognize service and spares sales opportunities and communicate that to the relevant departments/persons

Reporting directly to the Operation Superintendent located in Bergen, Norway. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Bergen however the work is performed onboard vessels or shipyards globally, therefore willingness to travel is essential.

What you’ll need to succeed

The suitable person has communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively as well as to manage a big repair work in which at least 5 foreign workers are involved.

● Technical education Bachelors or Technical college level within technical engineering with a degree/diploma in steel work (structure), mechanics, hydraulic engineering
● Relevant experience may compensate for lack of education
● Organize transports, tools, material, spare parts as well as food and accommodation
● Ability to work independently
● Willingness to travel is essential
● Proficient in Norwegian and English both spoken and written
