About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commissioning System Responsible for Crane and Lifting Equipment to join major projects based in Stavanger. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the safe and efficient commissioning of designated systems throughout the project, from preparation to handover.

This is a hands-on role needing technical expertise, planning capability, and strong coordination skills across disciplines, with a particular focus on cranes and lifting systems (including fully electrical cranes).

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify documentation and drawings related to MC (mechanical completion) and commissioning.
• Provide engineering input aligned with the commissioning testing strategy.
• Estimate, plan, and coordinate commissioning activities onshore and offshore for designated systems.
• Independently plan and execute MC follow-up and commissioning tasks.
• Participate in MC punch-outs and factory acceptance tests (FATs) at supplier locations.
• Input and update progress in the project completion system (PIMS).
• Develop and review commissioning procedures, ensuring they are implemented effectively.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to execute commissioning efficiently, with a strong HSSE (health, safety, security, environment) focus.
• Plan and call off crane ATS (acceptance test services) resources onshore and offshore.
• Manage contractor and vendor ATS personnel involved in commissioning.
• Ensure availability of necessary spare parts and special tools before commissioning starts.
• Provide leadership to uphold high safety and environmental standards.
• Support and coordinate commissioning support as needed.
• Ensure a flowing transition of systems from project phase to operational handover.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree (BSc) in engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong background in commissioning activities within oil and gas or heavy industrial projects.
• Experience with fully electrical cranes is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with commissioning systems such as PIMS.
• Solid understanding of HSSE standards in a commissioning context.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Excellent planning, coordination, and communication skills.
