As we continue to grow our fleet with newbuilding vessels, we're looking for a dedicated Vessel Operator to join our team. This is a great opportunity to take on a key role in a dynamic and forward-leaning shipping company. You’ll be part of a tight-knit operations team working closely with clients and partners across the industry.
As a Vessel Operator, you’ll be responsible for the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of voyages. You’ll coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure everything runs on schedule, within budget, and according to regulations.
Key responsibilities:-
Handle the daily operation of assigned vessels from pre-fixture to voyage completion.
-
Maintain close dialogue with clients, charterers, agents, brokers, suppliers, ship management, and stevedores.
-
Issue voyage instructions and follow up on performance, timings, and costs.
-
Plan and coordinate bunker deliveries; ensure port readiness and approve related expenses.
-
Organize stowage and sea fastening documentation for project or heavy-lift cargoes.
-
Manage cargo documentation, including bills of lading and discharge instructions.
-
Monitor and update voyage management systems to ensure invoicing and reporting accuracy.
-
Support with laytime calculations and post-fixture documentation when needed.
-
Follow up on regulatory and environmental compliance, including fuel consumption and emissions reporting.
-
Contribute to operational risk assessments and collaborate with technical and commercial departments.
-
BSc in Shipping, Logistics, Supply Chain or similar. Relevant operational experience may compensate for formal education.
-
Prior experience in vessel operations is required; sailing experience is an advantage.
-
Familiarity with voyage planning, port procedures, and commercial contracts (e.g. C/P terms).
-
Positive and reliable with a hands-on attitude and strong sense of ownership.
-
Structured and solution-oriented with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
-
Commercially aware with a strong focus on efficiency and cost control.
-
Excellent communication skills in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written.
-
Confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
What We Offer:
-
A varied and engaging role in vessel operations within a growing, international shipping company.
-
Opportunities for personal and professional development in a supportive and flexible work environment.
-
Competitive terms, including pension, health insurance, and other employee benefits.
-
A strong team culture with regular social events and gatherings --- we believe good collaboration starts with good relationships.
-
A workplace committed to operational quality and continuous improvement, true to our vision: “Large Enough to Handle, Small Enough to Care.”
