Om bedriften

Searas AS was established in 2017 by experienced entrepreneurs with broad industrial backgrounds, who remain active in the company. In 2024, Leirvik AS became a shareholder, and Searas AS is now owned 50/50 by Searas Holding AS and Leirvik Group II AS. Searas currently has 22 dedicated employees, several of whom are also shareholders.

Searas AS develops technology and delivers products and systems for land-based aquaculture in closed tanks, both nationally and internationally. The company has established a broad patent portfolio. System deliveries (complete RAS -- Recirculating Aquaculture Systems) are provided through our subsidiary Optiras AS. We are growing and were selected by Baring Group as their RAS supplier for their major development project in Farsund.

Our solutions prioritise fish welfare, environmental considerations, energy efficiency and responsible waste management. This has been documented through a full-scale pilot and our delivery to Baring. We work across all elements of a RAS facility. Our products include:

  • AquaDUCT-- our central water treatment unit for degassing and skimming

  • AquaSENSE-- a sensor for accurate real-time monitoring of water quality

  • Automation for facility control

  • AquaWARE-- our own software with simulators and AI for prediction and optimisation

  • Apps for OptiRAS

  • OptiRAS-- our complete system delivery for land-based aquaculture
