Project Engineer

We are seeking a collaborative and reliable Project Engineerwithin Offshore and Special Purpose, Propulsion & Handling. This role is within mechanical engineering field, but with focus on hydraulics.

In this role, you will design and develop hydraulic and mechanical solutions for offshore winch and handling systems, support projects and suppliers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the hydraulic product portfolio.

Our team develops, deliver and maintain complex winch and handling systems for a broad range of vessels within the offshore market. The position is in our Handling business area which owns, develops and delivers world class handling solutions, with focus on system solutions and integration driving increased efficiency in our customers' operations. The area is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for all Kongsberg Maritimes winches and handling solutions.

• Design of hydraulic systems, specify components of hydraulic systems and prepare technical documentation according to internal procedures, customer requirements and international standards
• Maintenance and improvement for our unique and highly specialized Low-Pressure Hydraulic product portfolio.
• Perform mechanical design tasks to ensure complete and integrated solutions
• Technical clarifications with suppliers of hydraulic and mechanical components during purchasing process and support purchasing department
• Hydraulic support to other departments.
• Contribute to our team; socially and professionally.

Qualifications and experience

• Degree in engineering or a related field; practical experience may compensate for formal education.
• Solid understanding of hydraulic components and systems
• Ability to perform work tasks in an orderly, systematic manner and to agree deadlines
• Practical experience in the maritime industry is advantageous
