ABB Norway PAEN (Process Automation and Energy Industries) is involved in projects delivering electrical equipment and advanced control systems covering a broad field of applications, such as the oil and gas industry, subsea electrical systems, power from shore to oil installations, offshore wind, hydro power plants, onshore and offshore fish farms, and more. As Senior Project Lead Engineer you are accountable for delivery in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, cost estimates and safety requirements of the project. You provide technical support for engineering, testing, installation and commissioning activities and acts as a technical specialist with good knowledge on electrical systems. In this role, you will work close with the Project Management team, the Project Engineering team, suppliers and customers.
Your responsibilities-
Engineering & Design of electrical power distribution plants, including high, medium and low voltage switchboards, transformers, rotating equipment, and more.

Design solutions and follow up specifications according to customer’s requirements and applicable standards.

Implement customer functional requirements into ABB’s products.

Follow up and execute review and upgrade-activities in projects.

The position involves working together with Norwegian and internationals customers and vendors therefore some travelling must be expected.

Work as Senior Project Lead Engineer in electrical projects in Domestic Industries, containing (and not limited to) High and Medium Voltage packages (AIS and GIS. 5-132kV), LV packages, Grid-connection, Generators, Transformers (dry type, oil type), synchronization, rectifier-systems etc.

Technical lead and coordinator of deliveries of electrical packages/deliveries for industrials plants containing interface to several disciplines

Technical sales support during tendering phase of greenfield and brownfield-projects

Design and Engineering of HV/LV/HV-systems in different industry-segments, including Switchgears, UPS and Battery-systems, frequency-converters etc.

Full and detailed understanding of related documentation and functionality of components (logic in IED’s, schematics etc), and systems within the segment, including knowledge of relevant norms and rules.

Leading Protection Relay Studies in LV/MV/HV together with system-studies

Knowledge and Experience with FEBDOK-calculations

Knowledge of control Systems and interfacing electrical equipment with automation systems and IED’s, e.g. the IEC61850 standard.

Theoretical and Preferably Commissioning Experience with IED’s within Domestic Industries, High Voltage & Medium Voltage-systems & synchronization.
Qualifications for the role
-
Experience as Senior Project Lead Engineer in electrical projects, where your scope has covered some of the following: High and Medium Voltage packages (AIS and GIS. 5-132kV), Low Voltage switchboards, Transformers (dry type, oil type), Frequency converters, UPS systems, Generator controls.

Theoretical and preferably Commissioning Experience with IED’s within Hydro Power Application, High Voltage & Medium Voltage-systems

Experience with a broad range of technical aspects of industry-plants encompassing electrical, mechanical, functional and operational issues

Detailed knowledge and experience about documentation and functionality of components and systems within the segment, including knowledge of relevant norms and rules.

It is a benefit if you are familiar with interfacing electrical equipment with automation systems, e.g. the IEC61850 standard + known solutions in the Industry.

B.Sc. or M.Sc. or equivalent in Electric Power Engineering.

Fluent in both Norwegian and English, verbal and written.

Commercial awareness.

Used to lead electrical teams with interfaces
