Manager Lerang Research Station

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Manager for our Lerang Research Station --- Skretting’s trial facility located in Forsand municipality. You will join a team of enthusiastic researchers, research technicians, and project coordinators. This role is ideal for someone who values strong teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement. It requires solid leadership skills and a strong focus on safety and operational efficiency. As Manager, you will oversee the team’s daily activities and ensure effective resource allocation to support operational goals. You will also be responsible for developing team capabilities through ongoing support and training. While your primary collaboration will be within Skretting Aquaculture Innovation at all levels, the role also involves significant interaction with Skretting operating companies, external partners, and governmental authorities.

Main Responsibilities:

· Ensure a safe working environment by implementing relevant HSE policies and initiatives

· Lead and motivate employees

· Manage personnel and follow up on budget responsibilities

· Oversee the quality of services and the execution of daily operations at the research station, including maintenance and development

· Overall responsibility for the execution of research projects at the station, including animal welfare and biosecurity

· Collaborate closely with researchers at Skretting Innovation and with our international research stations

· Ensure compliance with legal requirements and manage all communication with governmental authorities

· Represent the station to both internal and external visitors

Required Competence and Qualifications:

· The ability to lead through people and a proven managerial record

· Practical experience in aquaculture, and preferably higher education in a relevant field

· Practical, structured, and solution-oriented approach

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills

· Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities

· Fluency in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written
