There is a vacancy for an Estate Services Assistant within the Defence Infrastructure Organisation Overseas & Training (DIO OS & Trg) at Camp CLOCKWORK, Bardufoss, Norway. The post is open to current DEL staff as well as to external applicants.
The position is graded S3 and is offered on a 37.5 hours per week basis. Starting rate of pay is 40,445 NOK going up to 58,560 NOK in 10 annual increments. The UK MOD applies fixed pay scales; therefore, salaries are not negotiable.
The post holder will be responsible to the Site Estate Manager (SEM) and will support the efficient use, inspection, and management of Camp CLOCKWORK facilities and infrastructure. The role requires a practical, flexible, and reliable individual, capable of working independently and undertaking inspections and site-related duties in a challenging climatic environment.
Main duties include:- Physically able of carrying out internal and external inspections of all Clockwork CAMP
- buildings and infrastructure facilities for signs of damage or fault to the structure, services or equipment
- Checking & flushing of sanitary appliances during hot weather to prevent drying out of U bends.
- Escort of all non-security cleared contractors / visitors. Escort all visitors / contractors on
- Technical Site.
- Collect post and provide basic translation of invoices/documents.
- Access & check all areas with exception of Duty-Free Store. (Ensure no spaces are locked without access).
- When on duty, monitor all fire alarms
- Under direction from the SEM, liaise with Clockwork Personnel on defects, log and report, order in relevant tradesmen to repair / rectify fault and report back to SEM.
The post holder must have good verbal and written knowledge of English and Norwegian, be computer literate with the ability to use standard office IT systems and hold a valid driving licence. An awareness of general site health and safety arrangements is essential. The role requires flexibility to undertake out‑of‑hours and on‑call duties in accordance with site procedures, and the ability to accurately record inspections, defects, and actions taken. Previous experience in facilities management would be advantageous but is not essential.
