Plant Utilities Engineer (HVAC, Supplies and Piping)

We are seeking a skilled Plant Utility Engineer - HVAC, Supplies and Piping - to oversee and manage all supply systems within our Li-ion battery production facility. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and optimization of utilities such as water, HVAC, and all relevant ducting, piping and control systems. This role is critical to maintaining the high standards of our production environment and ensuring uninterrupted operations.

Main responsibilities:

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of all utility systems, including water, HVAC, chiller system, dry-room system, nitrogen generation, compressed air systems, chemical warehouse and supply systems, and all relevant ducting, piping and control systems.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and efficiency of utility systems, and minimize downtime.
• Monitor and optimize energy usage to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure all utility systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system performance, and compliance reports.
• Lead and support utility-related projects, including upgrades, expansions, and new installations.
• Work closely with production, quality, and safety teams to ensure utility systems meet operational needs.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for maintenance and repair services.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance system performance.

Skills and requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in utility engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong knowledge of utility systems, including HVAC, electrical, water, and compressed air systems. Proficiency in using maintenance management software.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Energy Manager, HVAC certification) are a plus.
