The Pairing Room is opening in Rådhuspassasjen, with the ambition of becoming one of Oslo’s leading wine bars. The concept is built around handpicked wines from around the world, thoughtful pairings, personal hospitality and an atmosphere inspired by modern European cities.

Our ambition is to create an experience that feels exclusive, but never excluding. Guests should feel equally welcome stopping by for a spontaneous glass of wine at the bar or settling in for a complete pairing experience guided by knowledgeable and passionate professionals.

You will join a close-knit wine team of four, led by a Master Sommelier, where everyone is committed to continuous learning and development. Weekly training sessions and tastings will be held as we strive to become one of the best wine teams in Norway.

For the Junior Sommelier role, a basic understanding of wine is desirable. More importantly, we are looking for someone who is great with guests, and shows humility and a genuine drive to become better.

For the Sommelier position, we would ideally like candidates to hold a CMS certification and have strong knowledge of the classical wine regions of the world.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is passionate about wine, food, hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences

• Has relevant experience from a restaurant, wine bar or hotel, preferably within a quality-driven concept

• Is curious about wine and motivated to continuously develop their knowledge

• Has an understanding of food and wine pairing, or a strong desire to develop within this area

• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with high standards and strong professional ambitions

• Is humble, eager to learn and enjoys being part of a team

• Communicates well in English. Norwegian or another Scandinavian language is an advantage, but not a requirement

Your responsibilities:

• Create personal and memorable guest experiences through wine and hospitality

• Guide guests through the wine list and recommend wines based on food, occasion and individual preferences

• Present and serve wine with professionalism and attention to detail

• Work with food and wine pairings in close collaboration with the wine team and kitchen

• Maintain high standards in wine service, storage and daily operations

• Take an active part in training, tastings and knowledge sharing

• Contribute to wine tastings, events and the overall development of the guest experience
