**Job Purpose:**Manage and facilitate a global workwear product line. The Product Manager oversees the total line plan and is responsible for commercialization and launch of new seasons.
Key Accountabilities- Understand the global consumer requirements in key markets through consumer research, market trips, customer pre-lines and on-site interactions. Input to product team on key price points, style and color focus, and market trends.
- Plan the seasonal Workwear line for selected categories based on consumer needs as well as sales and margin targets set together with Product Director -- manage all aspects of the line plan and planning tools for your products. This planning includes news, carry overs and cancelations.
- Ensure all planning and seasonal activities adhere to Helly Hansen timelines.
- Seasonal presentations with key accounts for the categories of responsibility to gain on hand commercial input into the line planning process
- Manage the pricing process. Set targets for cost pricing, work with developers on technical negotiation. Support Product Director in negotiation with vendors and in retail pricing discussions.
- Assist with planning of product launches (sales meetings, price meeting, sales support, marketing tools).
- Create must have products for the category, working closely with the design and development team to ensure perfect execution of plans.
- Ensure the smooth execution of all HH processes and timelines to ensure an on-line and in full delivery of samples and products. To work with the quality and process manager, to create product excellence through all stages of development.
Qualifications / K ey Competencies
- Graduate (preferably with a product related degree).
- Min 5 years’ experience.
- Global understanding of the workwear market.
- In-depth technical product experience and understanding of the value chain.
- Effective presentation and communication ability.
- Commercial skills to build a range that generates profits.
- High level of numeracy.
- Effective people management and interpersonal skills in a multi-cultural environment with distributed geography.
- Language skills -- must be fluent in written and spoken English.
- Excellent apparel “touch”.
- Energetic and enthusiastic.
- Pragmatic, tenacious with attention to detail and sees solutions.
- Dedicated to getting the job done but able to have ‘fun’ as well.
- Self starter.
- High degree of travel.
