Teacher of Mathematics (50%) and Science (50%)

Duties and Responsibilities

The teacher of Mathematics (50%) and Science (50%) will be responsible for the delivery of the following key priorities:

• Design, prepare and delivering a high quality curriculum for grades within the IB MYP framework to suit the individual needs of all students

• Nurture meaningful relationships with students and provide the individual attention they need

• Inspire mixed culture and ability classes, by creating challenging yet inclusive and engaging learning opportunities for all students

• Maintain constant awareness of the needs of any students

• Maintain a safe learning environment for students

• Assess and monitor student progress through Toddle and provide targets so that all learners can see success and improve incessantly

• Liaise with the MYP coordinator and administration to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom

• Assume responsibility for the pastoral care of a class of students, paying particular attention to personal development and child protection

• Collaborate with other teachers to deliver an interdisciplinary curriculum and share new ideas, approaches and professional knowledge

• Communicate accurately and regularly with parents

• Participate in school activities outside regular school hours to include, but not limited to, school trips, staff meetings, parent's evenings, open days, professional development training sessions, conferences and workshops, induction and if applicable examination supervision

• Provide outstanding teaching to create a vibrant and distinctive culture for learning for the students at school

• Ensure all our students are able to thrive and engage in both academic and vocational learning to achieve above and beyond their highest potential whilst developing personal and employability skills.

• Asses record and report on the attendance, progress, development and attainment of students whilst keeping electronic records as required

• Contribute to reports and references relating to individual students

• Ensure that ICT, Literacy and Numeracy are part of the teaching and learning experience of students.

• Ensure a high quality learning experience for students, which meets internal and external quality standards.

• Prepare and regularly update subject materials.

• Use a variety of delivery methods, which will stimulate learning appropriate to student needs and demands of the syllabus.

• Maintain discipline in accordance with the NLIS procedures, and to encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and independent learning.

• Supervise the MYP-4 & 5 students for the MYP Personal Project when needed

• Preparing students for the MYP-e assessment

• Organize Pi Day
