Junior Financial Controller -- AI \& Finance Automation

We are looking for a Junior Financial Controller who wants to help shape the future of our finance function through AI and automation.

In this role, you will identify, test, and implement AI tools that streamline accounting processes, reduce manual work, and improve the way the department operates.

About the role

You will split your time between core controller and accounting work and driving AI-based process improvement.

Core responsibilities include:

• Ongoing bookkeeping and account reconciliations

• Supporting month-end and year-end closing

• Following up accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Assisting with invoicing, including intercompany transactions

• Other controller and accounting tasks

In addition, you will take an active role in modernising the department, including:

• Identifying accounting tasks suited for AI-driven automation (e.g. invoice processing, reconciliations, reporting)

• Piloting and implementing AI tools together with the finance team and IT

• Building simple automations and AI-assisted workflows that reduce manual work

• Staying up to date on new AI capabilities relevant to finance and accounting

Qualifications

• Master's degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field

• 1-2 years of relevant experience from audit, financial reporting, controlling, or similar roles is an advantage, but recent graduates are also welcome to apply

• Strong, hands-on AI competence - you should be genuinely skilled with AI tools

• Good understanding of accounting principles and an interest in working with numbers

• Structured, accurate, and solution-oriented, with a drive to improve how things are done

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Norwegian and English
