Piping Engineer \| Golar LNG

We are seeking a technically strong and solution-oriented Piping Engineer to join our onshore Technical support team. This role provides essential engineering and troubleshooting support to our offshore FLNG units, focusing on piping systems across both topside process and marine scopes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support on piping-related issues arising during FLNG operations.

• Evaluate and advise on repair methods for piping systems, including temporary repairs, composite repairs and conventional welding.

• Ensure repair procedures comply with relevant standards, including ASME B31.3 for process piping and DNV rules for marine and cryogenic systems.

• Review and interpret piping specifications, isometrics, P&IDs, and support NDT requirements as needed.

• Liaise with offshore teams, contractors, and class societies to ensure timely and compliant execution of piping repairs.

• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses related to piping systems.

• Occasionally travel offshore to support critical repair or inspection campaigns, if required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Piping Engineering, or related field.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in piping engineering within the oil and gas sector, preferably with exposure to offshore or LNG environments.

• Hands-on understanding of ASME B31.3 and DNV GL piping rules and repair practices.

  Familiarity with piping inspection, maintenance, and NDT practices (e.g., visual, UT, RT).

• Experience with topside process modules and marine piping systems.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on attitude.

• Effective communicator with the ability to work under pressure and in a cross-functional, multicultural environment.
