The Northern Lights JV DA (NLJV) Finance department is responsible for financial management, reporting, accounting, tax, cash management and financial governance across Northern Lights. In addition to in-house activities, NLJV relies on support from an external accounting firm for accounting and tax services, Equinor as technical service provider to NLJV as well as banks and other financial advisors.

Key stakeholders include the NLJV Leadership Team, the Owners of NLJV, external auditors, and public authorities such as the Norwegian state and the European Union through CINEA. Additional stakeholders comprise internal departments in NLJV, financial institutions, regulatory bodies (tax administration, SSB), and providers of financial systems and digital solutions.

This position is located in Stavanger.

Your role

As our Finance & Reporting Controller, you will play an important role in ensuring high-quality financial data, reporting, and controls, as well as monitoring cash positions and requirements in NLJV. You will use your experience with financial systems and reporting, while contributing to develop the company further.

More specifically, you will, among other things:

• Take overall responsibility for controlling NLJV’s financial data and financial reporting to owners and authorities.
• Review and ensure the quality of accounting records, identifying and implementing improvements where needed.
• Work closely with our external accounting provider to oversee monthly reporting, the annual report and tax reporting.
• Be the point of contact for our external auditor on financial reporting.
• Monitor cash positions and prepare drawdown of external loans and execute currency exchange.
• Support the Finance Manager and CFO with controlling, reporting , and cash management.

• Familiar with financial reporting, mapping and preferably advanced accounting policies.
• Proactive and willing to challenge existing ways of working and drive change.

We don't expect you to tick every box, but familiarity with Power BI would be an advantage!

Qualifications

• You hold a Master’s, or bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• A strong finance and accounting background with a minimum of 5 years of proven experience.
• Experience from ERP and reporting systems.
• We highly value strong communication abilities, both verbal and written, in both Norwegian and English.
