About the position
NHH in Bergen, Norway, invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor in Financial Accounting and Auditing at the Department of Accounting, Auditing and Law. The duration of the contract for the position is four years. We seek ambitious candidates early in their careers who have relevant research experience and teaching capabilities within the field of Financial Accounting or Auditing. The candidates should have a PhD in Financial Accounting or Auditing and possess a portfolio of projects with clear potential to be published in top-ranked journals.
To strengthen the research group in Financial Accounting and Auditing we seek candidates with confirmed competence in quantitative archival-empirical methods within the financial accounting or audit domain. The research group is affiliated with two research centers/projects: Centre for Digital Business and Audit and a research project of digital transformation in a large Norwegian company. Candidates with research experience in the relevant methods and topics will be prioritised.
Faculty members at NHH are expected to be good teachers. NHH offers the opportunity to participate in a programme for university pedagogy, and the appointee must take one basic module of the programme for university pedagogy during the course of the fixed-term period. The appointee is expected to be involved in teaching on an average of one course per year and conduct some student supervision in degree programs at bachelor, master and PhD levels. Candidates must be fluently in English. Formal pedagogical education and/or practical experience with teaching will count positively for the job.
NHH offers
The salary will be negotiable within the Norwegian State Salary Scale for assistant professors. External research grants and teaching in executive programs offer opportunities for supplementing this salary. NHH offers a favorable arrangement with membership in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund (SPK), generous research funds for traveling and conference participation, and a bonus system for publication in top international journals.
