The Engineering Department designs industrial control systems for the oil & gas, telemetry, and renewable energy sectors. Reporting to the Sampling & Production Manager, the Principal Engineer leads and collaborates with discipline leads to ensure high-quality engineering deliverables. This role involves strategic direction, technical guidance, and maintaining the integrity of mechanical systems. The Principal Engineer also drives continuous improvement and supports other functions with technical expertise.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to lead and oversee mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion, with a background in subsea and topside systems, industrial control systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Some of the Key Accountabilities:

• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to the engineering team, ensuring best practices and industry standards are adhered to.
• Oversee the design and development of mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging new technologies and methodologies to enhance mechanical system performance and reliability.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports, documentation, and presentations for project reviews and stakeholder communication.
• Facilitate training and development programs for junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
• Continuous improvement of departmental process, procedures and interfaces to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

Engineering-related qualification (MSc, BEng, BSc).

Have knowledge and understanding of subsea/topside mechanical, electrical, software system design. 

Understanding of engineering tasks, processes, and activities.

Proven track record within a technical supervisory position.

Strong knowledge of standards and directives (NORSOK, PED, TR, etc).

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, Norwegian and English.

Ability to interface with internal/external customers
