You will join our Shipping team in Oslo and work alongside a balanced team of junior and senior bankers on financing transactions and client relationships across the Nordic Shipping portfolio. As a starting Shipping Banker, you will support the analysis, structuring, execution and monitoring of tailored bilateral and syndicated financing solutions. You will contribute throughout the credit process, including financial and market analysis, modelling, credit applications and documentation, as well as the ongoing monitoring of existing lending exposures.
The position provides exposure to clients and the wider range of banking solutions available to them. You will support senior colleagues in preparing for client discussions, understanding clients’ strategies and financing needs, and developing relevant commercial propositions together with product specialists and other functions across the bank. You will work closely with senior bankers and will gradually take on broader responsibilities as your knowledge and experience develop.
Key Duties and Responsibilities-
Perform financial, credit, market and sector analysis, including financial modelling, to support the assessment of existing clients, prospects and financing transactions.

Prepare credit reviews, credit applications and related materials under the supervision of senior bankers.

Monitor clients’ financial performance, covenant compliance and other credit risk indicators, and ensure timely follow-up and escalation of relevant signals.

Participate in structuring, pitching and executing tailored bilateral and syndicated financing solutions.

Assist in preparing for client discussions, analyzing clients’ strategies and financing needs and developing relevant commercial propositions.

Coordinate loan documentation and transaction processes in cooperation with internal stakeholders and external advisers.

Maintain accurate and timely client transaction and credit information across the bank’s systems, contributing to high data quality throughout the credit process.

Support compliance with applicable requirements, including Client Due Diligence, KYC, client integrity and other relevant risk and regulatory processes.

You hold a master’s degree in finance, economics or another relevant discipline.

You are a recent graduate or have up to two years of relevant work experience.

A form of international experience is desired.

You have an affinity for or genuine interest in Shipping, international business and or financial markets, and are motivated to develop your sector expertise.

You combine strong quantitative and analytical capabilities with a strategic mindset; A foundation in financial modelling and valuation skills would be an advantage

You have strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze and present complex information in a clear and structured manner.

You have strong communication and interpersonal skills and can build effective relationships with clients and colleagues across different disciplines, cultures and locations.

You demonstrate commercial curiosity.
