Translating or summarizing economic related news and press releases or other source of information both on foreign and domestic policies and on business activities, from Norwegian to English and from English to Norwegian.
-
Information gathering, analysis and reporting of above subjects.
-
Analyzing statistical data and composing graphs and tables.
-
Assisting the Embassy's communication and network-making with its counterparts such as government authorities, think tanks and private companies (e.g. sending/receiving inquiries, making interviews).
-
Helping the Embassy to organize events such as seminar, reception; and,
-
Other duties as designated by the Embassy.

Bachelor's degree or above, or equivalent education degree.
-
Basic knowledge or experiences and willingness to learn on economic policies and industrial activities (e.g. key policy rate, national budget, foreign direct investment, carbon taxation, government and parliaments' structure etc.).

Fluent in Norwegian and English (Both speaking and writing).
-
Logical writing, ability to make summary on news, reports and seminars both in written format and oral explanation.

Communication skill with Japanese, Norwegian and other related business parties and public authorities.

Basic knowledge on MS-Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Information literacy -- ability to locate and evaluate the needed information, being doubtful to fake news.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team environment; and,
-
Flexibility to take multi role task when needed.

Full-time employee position to start on or after 1 July 2026(The start date is negotiable)

Working hours: 7 hours (in principle kl.08.30 -- kl.15.30 / kl.09.00 -- kl.16.00, incl. 30 min. lunch break) per day, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday).

Overtime will be required a couple of times in a month on average; overtime allowance to be calculated at an hourly rate stipulated by the Embassy.

Salary will depend upon the education and experience of the successful candidate but is expected to be approximately NOK 37,500 to 40,000 per month.

Deadline of the application:The Embassy conducts primary screening of applicants with submitted documents. Successful candidates will proceed to interview. A performance test will be also conducted for about an hour during the interview.
The date of interviews and examinations are planned as follows:
1st interview and examination, Some day between 2 - 5 June in Oslo.
2nd interview and examination, 11, 12, 15 or 16 June in Oslo.
