Who we are.
We are a global marine geoscience and technology business. We are pioneers using ground-breaking technology to study what lies beneath the ocean floor. We help energy companies plan ahead, accelerating responsible use of the planet’s resources. We provide marine seismic data, imaging products and data processing software. Our teams offer unparalleled acquisition capability to our clients, providing them with the tools they need to reduce exploration risks and maximise their production efficiency.

Ready to navigate the world of marine crewing?
We're looking for a Marine Crewing Planner to join our Marine Crewing team.
In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring our fleet is staffed with the right people, at the right time, and in full compliance with maritime regulations and company standards. You'll be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day crewing activities for an allocated portfolio of vessels, working closely with offshore personnel, operations teams, logistics colleagues and fleet management.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment and enjoys balancing operational planning, people coordination and problem-solving.

What you'll be doing
  • Managing day-to-day crewing activities for assigned vessels, ensuring crews are qualified, compliant and mobilised on time

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for allocated offshore personnel regarding assignments, schedules and leave requests

  • Coordinating crew assignments and rotations in line with vessel crew models and company requirements

  • Supporting onboarding activities for new marine crew, including overlaps and inductions

  • Working closely with Operations, Technical, Fleet Management and Marine Crewing teams to ensure efficient resource allocation

  • Maintaining accurate crew records and ensuring compliance within the crew management system

  • Supporting immigration, visa and certification requirements for assigned vessels and projects

  • Assisting with budget control activities, including quality checks of logistics, accommodation and travel-related invoices

  • Participating in Marine Crewing improvement initiatives and projects

  • Supporting crew emergency response activities when required

Technically speaking...
We're looking for someone who combines strong planning skills with an understanding of marine or offshore operations.
You may have:

  • A degree or relevant professional experience

  • Previous experience in crewing coordination, marine operations, offshore logistics or a related field

  • Knowledge of maritime regulations, including STCW and the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC 2006)

  • Experience working with crew management systems or operational planning tools

  • Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken

  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • A proactive mindset and confidence in making sound decisions in a dynamic environment

  • Additional language skills, which would be considered an advantage

In personal terms...
  • You're someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity and keeping operations running smoothly.

  • You build strong relationships with people at all levels, communicate clearly and remain calm when priorities change. You're highly organised, self-motivated and comfortable working independently, while also collaborating across functions and geographies.

  • Most importantly, you're solution-oriented and enjoy finding practical ways to make things happen.

What does Shearwater offer you?
  • The opportunity to work in a truly global marine organisation

  • Exposure to international maritime operations and offshore projects

  • Competitive salary and benefits.

  • A supportive environment focusing on learning and development

  • A collaborative, transparent and inclusive culture.

Curious? Perfect. We all have that in common. Shearwater careers: Time to make your own waves.
