Job Description:

An Operations Engineer is responsible for setting up and configuring systems for projects, installing software, connecting and testing equipment, and ensuring system quality. They create electrical drawings, tag-lists, and crane geometry calculations, and design custom mounting brackets. They also generate electrical wiring diagrams, create cable and component tag lists, and handle the picking and packing of equipment. Operations Engineers work closely with other departments to integrate procedures, maintain compliance with standards. Additionally, they provide support for surveys, installations, and commissioning, and communicate with clients and partners on matters related to mobilization and engineering.
 

Operations - Key Responsibilities

• Setup system configurations for projects.
• Install the latest Optilift software.
• Connect all equipment and perform testing.
• Conduct system quality checks.
• Prepare electrical drawing packages.
• Generate and maintain tag-lists.
• Perform crane geometry calculations based on GA drawings.
• Design or coordinate design of custom mounting brackets based on survey information.
• Generate or coordinate generation of wiring diagrams according to project configurations.
• Create cable and component tag-lists based on wiring diagrams.
• Pick and pack equipment for projects.
• Provide support for surveys, installations, and commissioning.
• Document control and follow up of procedures & quality checks.
• Perform onshore commissioning support.
• Technical contact point for customers and partners.

 

Customer Support - Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues reported by customers on software and hardware.
• Perform product commissioning and provide clear, concise explanations and solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.
• Identify recurring issues and propose enhancements to improve products and services.

 

Requirements:

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience working with configuration and troubleshooting of OT/IT systems
• General knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
• Fluency in English. Fluency in Norwegian is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Relevant education or experience.

Beneficial skills and competences:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Automation, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Practical experience may make up for lack of formal education.
• Experience in software and hardware troubleshooting is a strong plus.
• Experience working with Windows and Linux is a plus.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and practices is a plus.
• Experience in AutoCAD for 2D wiring diagrams and crane geometry calculations is a plus.
• Experience with Inventor for 3D bracket design and drawings is a plus.
