Purpose

The Head of Procurement will lead and develop Fred. Olsen Renewables’ procurement function across our business units, Operations, Projects (Construction), Business Development, and Administration. You will lead a geographically split team, with team members in Oslo and Stirling (Scotland). This is a key leadership role in a function recently organised under Finance, and the function is still in an integration phase. In this role, you will work hands-on with suppliers and collaborate closely with our corporate team to align operational execution with group-wide supplier strategies. While the corporate function focuses on long-term supplier development, you will develop a unified approach to sourcing, contracting, category management, compliance, and supplier performance management.

The role requiresstrategic vision, commercial acumen , and the ability to deliver tangible cost and efficiency improvements that support our renewable energy projects.

Fred. Olsen Renewables is a first mover with a proven track record within renewable power generation. We develop, own, and operate onshore wind farms, focusing on our core markets in Scandinavia, the UK, and Italy. In addition, we are expanding into solar PV and battery storage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Team Development:
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the Procurement team across Oslo and Stirling (Scotland).
  • Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear objectives, priorities, and performance standards for the function.
• Strategy & Governance:
  • Develop and implement a group-wide procurement strategy, all the way from commodity sourcing to high-value strategic purchases.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements across all procurement activities.
  • Embed efficient, transparent procurement processes and tools, utilising framework agreements where relevant.
  • Develop contingency plans for critical supplies.
• Operational Delivery:
  • Oversee procurement for all major projects and operational needs.
  • Analyse market trends, supply chain risk, and opportunities to optimise procurement processes
  • Lead or directly support negotiations for high-value contracts and strategic supplier agreements.
  • Manage key supplier relationships and performance monitoring.
• Value & Cost Management:
  • Deliver measurable cost efficiencies and total value improvements.
  • Introduce robust performance metrics and KPIs for procurement, developed in collaboration with the CFO and other senior leaders.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other business units to anticipate needs and align procurement plans.
  • Participate in project steering committees where procurement plays a critical role.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven leadership experience in procurement.
• Industry background flexible; renewables or energy sector experience advantageous.
• Strong commercial negotiation skills.
• Relevant education background within business, supply chain management or procurement
• Familiarity with ERP/procurement systems and category management principles.
