Looking for your next challenge: leading the software team creating cleaner technology for boats and ships?
At Pascal Technologies, we develop energy-efficient technology for boats and ships. We build electric- and hybrid propulsion systems, and we have developed AirHull technology, a hull technology that cuts the energy consumption of boats by up to 50%.
As we are growing, we are now looking for an experienced software developer to lead our software development team.
You will set the technical direction for our software, prioritize resource allocation, and lead, mentor, and grow the developers. We need you to stay hands-on with software architecture and the hardest technical problems.
In Pascal we work with both hardware and software, covering system architecture, coding, PCB design, and wiring harness design, so you should enjoy cross-disciplinary collaboration. You will work closely with Jesper Hosen, our Head of Technology, on the overall direction.
We are experiencing increased delivery pressure, so some travel, both domestically and internationally, should be expected.
What you will be working on:-
Lead, mentor, and grow our team of software developers, setting technical direction and priorities.
-
Own our overall software architecture, across embedded, application, and data layers.
-
Establish and maintain good engineering practices, including code quality, testing, code review, and release processes.
-
Stay hands-on: contribute to software architecture, coding, and troubleshooting alongside the team.
-
Work closely with the rest of the technical team to align software and hardware development.
-
Recruit and onboard new software developers as the team scales.
-
Support commissioning, installation, and testing of systems at customer sites when needed.
-
Background in computer science, electronics, cybernetics, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
-
Solid experience with embedded software development, ideally in a hardware-intensive product environment.
-
Experience leading, mentoring, or managing software developers, whether as a tech lead, team lead, or engineering manager.
-
We believe you have 4-10+ years of relevant experience, but we are flexible!
-
Strong system architecture skills, comfortable making trade-offs across the hardware/software boundary.
-
Comfortable working with physical systems and interested in staying hands-on.
-
Experience using AI and new technologies to boost engineering productivity.
-
Bonus if you have experience with electric propulsion systems, batteries, electric motors, charging systems, or PLC programming!
Not a perfect match? Get in touch anyway. We hire people, not CVs!
What you get:-
The chance to build and shape a growing software team from an early stage.
-
Direct influence on our technology strategy, working closely with our CTO and the rest of the technical team.
-
A job where you actually see what you build, out on the water, not just on a screen.
-
The opportunity to work with both hardware and software.
-
Become part of a highly skilled and innovative environment.
-
