Bachelor's degree in teaching primary or secondary students; Specialist training in Autism and Learning Support

Preferable qualifications: BA in Special Education

Relevant primary or secondary teaching experience in working with autism students. Experience working with diverse individual students, learning abilities and challenges.

Knowledge and experience in international schools or in an international/English language structure an advantage.

Arbeidsoppgaver

The position will include the following areas of responsibility:

• Teaching and working with a specific autistic Learning Support student

• Support and assistance with the management and planning of work

• Case managing the student referral, assessment, testing and documentation

• Leading and running any student PPT and IEP meetings

• Documentation and liaison with parents and external organisations

• Assessment and student monitoring of progress

• Teaching reading to the student

• Development and implementation of a literacy improvement plan

• Conduct pre- and post-testing using specific tests for the student

• Demonstrate competency in all subject areas

• Collaborate with class and subject teachers

• Plans lessons that reflect accommodations and modifications for individual differences within and outside the classroom environment

• Employs a variety of instructional techniques incorporating current technology

• Differentiates instruction by employing a variety of instructional strategies

• Engages the student in work that develops thinking skills
