Attorney-at-Law / Lawyer -- Nordic Contracts & Claims (Oslo)

Are you an insurance or commercial lawyer who wants to be closer to the business, the clients and the key decisions? We are looking for a committed, commercially minded attorney to join Aon’s Nordic Contracts & Claims team in Oslo.

In this role, you will use your legal expertise to influence major Nordic and international deals and claims, working in a specialized team at the intersection of law, risk and business.

What the day will look like As a member of our Nordic Contracts & Claims team, you will:

• Review and negotiate complex commercial contracts for Nordic clients, focusing on risk allocation, indemnity and insurance, and ensuring that the legal structure supports the client’s commercial objectives.
• Advise on strategy and coverage in high‑value, complex claims across non‑marine insurance products, helping clients navigate disputes and reach robust, practical outcomes.
• Counsel clients and internal stakeholders on insurance law, market practice and liability topics, often on issues that are business‑critical.
• Deliver external trainings and workshops, positioning Aon as a thought leader and strengthening client relationships.
• Contribute to internal know‑how and best practices, helping to shape how we work across the Nordics.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across the Nordics and globally, bringing together different perspectives to solve complex problems for our clients.

This is an opportunity to broaden your profile beyond traditional legal practice, while still using -- and developing -- your core legal skills every day. Skills and experience that will lead to success We believe you have:

• A master’s degree in law.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and in either Norwegian, Swedish or Danish.
• Preferably 5+ years of relevant experience, for example from:
  • Insurance law or business law
  • Contract management
  • Insurance broking
  • Underwriting
  • International claims
• The ability to balance legal precision with commercial and practical considerations and to explain complex issues in a clear, solution‑oriented way.
• A proactive, structured and collaborative working style, with a genuine interest in understanding clients’ businesses and building long‑term relationships.
