A part time position as scientist (20%) (one year)  is open in the Experimental Cancer Immunotherapy Group lead by Johanna Olweus, MD, PhD, at Dept. of Cancer Immunology, Institute for Cancer Research, Oslo University Hospital Radiumhospitalet and Institute for Clinical Medicine, University of Oslo. 

The project that the scientist will be working on in the group of Olweus involves development of new T-cell based immunotherapies, specifically single-cell T-cell receptor sequencing, cloning and T-cell receptor synthesis, as well as analysis of sequencing data.

 

More about the position

Olweus is Head of the Dept. of Cancer Immunology at Oslo University Hospital Radiumhospitalet and leads a research group in the department and holds a position as Professor at the University of Oslo (UiO). The main focus of the research group of Olweus is to develop novel T-cell receptor-based cancer immunotherapies and new technologies for target and TCR identification, and to couple clinical immunotherapy trials with penetrating mechanistic analyses. The research is performed in an interdisciplinary and translational program. The research team is highly international and conducts research in close collaboration with world-leading international collaborators at institutions such as Netherlands Cancer Institute and Karolinska Institutet.

Qualifications requirements

 Required selection criteria 

• A PhD in immunology or molecular biology 
• Deep knowledge in T cell immunology and cancer immunology, including authorships on multiple scientific publications in these areas
• At least 5 years of relevant post-doctoral hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology, specifically in the area of immune receptor analysis (T-cell receptors or antibodies)
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Excellent team working skills 

Preferred skills

PCR techniques, DNA & RNA isolation, gene knock in and knock out, primer/probe design, molecular cloning, T-cell receptor or antibody sequencing and corresponding data analysis, hands-on laboratory experience in pMHC preparation.
