About the Project
We are recruiting two postdoctoral research fellows for the project “ProSoft – Enhancing proton therapy for soft tissue sarcomas.” The project aims to develop a new spatially fractionated proton therapy (SFPT) strategy, integrated with advanced MRI, to improve treatment outcomes for patients with inoperable soft tissue sarcoma. Work will be carried out in a cross-disciplinary team spanning radiation biology, oncology, radiology, and physics.
Both positions focus on pre-clinical experimental studies, with close links to upcoming clinical sarcoma trials at Oslo University Hospital.
Oslo University Hospital is a workplace with great diversity. We believe this is crucial for solving our tasks in the best possible way. We want this diversity to be reflected among the applicants for our positions, and we encourage all qualified candidates, regardless of background, to apply!
Positions
Postdoc 1 – Biology
• Conduct pre-clinical studies using sarcoma-bearing mice
• Apply histopathology, immunohistochemistry, and related methods to assess various tumor response markers after SFPT
Postdoc 2 – Medical Physics
• Lead MRI-based monitoring of treatment effects in the tumors
• Link MR imaging data to biological endpoints
• Contribute MR approaches to clinical sarcoma studies
Both postdocs will collaborate closely, share responsibility for experimental work, and contribute to publications and supervision of students.
