Starting in September 2026, we are looking for a long-term employee for the position of Operations Manager of a mountain outdoor base in Norway.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY
During the summer season, we operate an outdoor activity base offering rafting, canyoning and mountain carts. In summer 2026, we welcomed 3,621 guests. The summer season runs from mid-May to mid-September.
During the winter season, we operate a small ski centre with the longest toboggan run in Norway and a ski rental service. In winter 2026, we welcomed 4,774 guests. The winter season runs from mid-December to mid-April.
During both seasons, guests can stay in our apartment or lavvo camp (maximum capacity of 49 people), and enjoy the facilities (sauna, hot tub, party lavvo and gas grill).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Management of the employee team:
-
Summer season: reception, booking, service (cleaning, café, shopping), guide team for rafting, canyoning and mountain carts, head guide (responsible for the operation of activities), drivers and maintenance -- approximately 15 people in total

Winter season: reception, booking, service (cleaning, café, shopping), ski lift operators, snow groomer and maintenance -- approximately 5 people in total

Manual and administrative management, development and maintenance of the base

Practical day-to-day operation of the base and its activities

Administration and preparation of materials for accounting

Management of company assets (buildings, vehicles and activity equipment)

Cooperation with the Finance Director, Booking and Marketing departments
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
Start: September 2026
Location: Dagali Fjellpark, Perstulvegen 100, 3588 Dagali, Norway
Working hours & remuneration

Number of working days during the winter season (mid-December -- mid-April): approximately 101

Number of working days during the summer season (mid-May -- mid-September): approximately 107

To be adjusted according to the candidate's abilities and mutual agreement.
Compensation: approximately NOK 220/hour, or alternatively a fixed salary based on the expected number of working hours, subject to agreement.
In the case of a long-term cooperation (after the trial period and with the agreement of both parties), we can discuss a fixed salary and performance-based bonus.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Management skills

Assertive attitude and advanced communication skills

Experience working in tourism

Positive attitude towards outdoor activities

Good knowledge of English

Willingness to stay in Dagali (Geilo) long-term and continuously from mid-December to mid-April and from mid-May to mid-September

Good computer skills and ability to handle administrative tasks

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions when necessary (snow, frost, wind, rain)
