Commissioning System Responsible – Process Chemical Systems
Location: Stord
About the role
We are seeking a Commissioning System Responsible – Process Chemical Systems to join our team in Stord. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and executing commissioning activities related to process chemical systems, ensuring that all systems are delivered according to technical standards and project schedules. This is a site-based and fully mobile role, working closely with cross-functional teams including construction, operations, maintenance, and suppliers.
Key responsibilities
- Execute commissioning tasks as directed by the Commissioning Discipline Lead.
- Verify that construction field installations meet design specifications, including P&IDs and ISO drawings.
- Participate in walkdowns and system verifications (Yellow Line/RFCC process).
- Plan and facilitate static and dynamic commissioning activities.
- Coordinate commissioning efforts across disciplines and ensure alignment with the pre-operations department.
- Ensure effective communication with stakeholders including operations, maintenance, contractors, and suppliers.
- Report daily to the Commissioning Discipline Lead on the status of commissioning activities.
- Update commissioning documentation, including P&ID redlines, valve lists, and blinding lists.
- Collect necessary documentation for system handovers (RFOC).
- Provide input on process-related commissioning strategy and overall completion planning.
- Oversee vendors, suppliers, and ATS resources during the commissioning phase.
- Review and develop commissioning procedures, witness supplier tests (FAT/SAT) as needed.
- Ensure a continuous transition from the project phase to operations.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical education/experience.
- Strong experience with commissioning of process chemical systems in large-scale industrial projects.
- Solid understanding of P&IDs, isometric drawings, and process flow diagrams.
- Previous experience with static and dynamic commissioning is highly desirable.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working in similar operations within the oil and gas or energy sectors is a strong advantage.
