Hands-on Plant HSE supporting safe production, risk assessments, inspections and HSE compliance

Plant HSE is responsible for:

· Supporting maintenance of NordicEPOD’s HSE management system at plant level in alignment with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, legal, Customer, CTS group level other relevant requirements applicable at production plant and delivery at sites from the production plant.

· Maintain a visible presence in the workface, engaging with supervisors, operatives, and contractors to reinforce safe behaviours and practical risk controls.

· Supporting alignment between plant activities and global QHSE governance requirements.

· Carry out routine inspections, audits, safety observations, and workplace monitoring across production, assembly, storage, and material handling areas.

· Actively contribute to HSE work being carried out throughout the plant to achieve organization goals.

· Provide HSE support for modular assembly, lifting operations, hot work, electrical installation, work at height, forklift, gantry crane, equipment movements, loading or offloading, and pedestrian interfaces.

· Monitor contractor works, installation activities, and commissioning support tasks to ensure safe systems of work are in place and followed.

· Ensure consultation and participation of workers in Health and Safety matters in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

· Support compliance to latest laws, regulations, standards and internal guidelines related to production plant.

· Ensure the organization, implementation and maintenance of Occupational Health and Safety services in accordance with applicable national legal requirements.

· Ensure compliance with applicable environmental legislation, including waste management, environmental permits and mandatory reporting to relevant authorities, where applicable.

· Ensure the HSE KPI are implemented and actively reporting internally in the business and within the group on given HSE KPIs.

· Perform risk assessment to operational tasks, plant specific tasks, project specific including delivery at Customer site in a way that all hazards are captured continuously and mitigative actions closed.

· Ensure formal and documented risk assessments covering operational tasks, plant specific tasks, project specific including delivery at Customer site, including periodic review and update in accordance with legal requirements.

· Perform scheduled inspections and scheduled safety observations to identify unsafe conditions and acts, improvement as per requirements from regulations, Customers to ensure compliance.

· Supporting on creation of HSE inspection checklist, HSE templates, local training, procedures, instructions.

· Participate in HSE campaigns, issue safety award champions

· Ensure reporting and investigation of occupational accidents, incidents and deviations in accordance with applicable legal obligations. Ensure lessons learned are communicated and effectively closed out.

· Perform root cause analysis to cases -- 5Why, Fish bone.

· Carrying out PSI/personal security induction for all new resources.

· Ensure that all employees receive mandatory Health and Safety training appropriate to their roles and specific risks, including training assignments and records are properly maintained.

· Review and ensure closure of actions from incidents, inspections, observations, risk assessments, other related in a timely manner as per requirements.

· Support PPE compliance, issuing and obsoleting the outdated

· Facilitate that appropriate systems and solutions are established to meet requirements within HSE.

· Perform Internal audit together with management and contribute to the external audit.

· Assist in complying with requirements for ergonomics and occupational hygiene.

· Participate in the company's protection round.

· Create SJA/safe job analyses form and participate when required.

· Perform scheduled HSE Toolbox talk in production.

· Support performing emergency drills together with Crisis management team leader on plant level.

· Ensure a good non-conformance system and work with non-conformance management.

· Demonstrate understanding and compliance with processes in NordicEPOD's management system.

· Strive for the best possible relationship of trust with the customer, other business relationships and public authorities when this is relevant.

The authority of the position:

According to the company's responsibility and authority matrix and Organizational Chart.

Competence requirements:

· Minimum 3-5 years' experience from a similar position.

· Relevant HSE qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH, Diploma or equivalent)

· Additional ISO 45001, 14001 audit lead and similar qualification is preferable but not mandatory.

· Knowledge of applicable Norwegian Health, Safety and Environmental legislation is mandatory.

· Good oral and written communication skills in Norwegian and English.

· Proactive, solution oriented, trust building, transparent are highly preferable

· Experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial, engineering, or similar operational environment

· Good working knowledge of safe systems of work, SJA, inspections, and operational risk controls

· Experience supporting lifting operations, material handling, and contractor interfaces would be advantageous

· Strong communication and engagement skills, with the confidence to work closely with frontline teams and positively challenge unsafe behaviours.
