Join Evotec and work closely with experienced engineers to develop robust solutions for demanding marine operations.
At Evotec, we develop advanced mechanical systems and handling solutions used in demanding marine operations worldwide. Our work spans within fisheries, aquaculture, marine research, seismic and offshore industries -- involving high loads, harsh environments, and strict requirements to safety and reliability.
We continuously develop and refine our technology, often working with new concepts and solutions rather than relying only on established designs.
We are now looking for an experienced mechanical engineer who wants to take responsibility, support colleagues, and contribute across projects where their competence makes a difference.
The roleAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be a key contributor in multidisciplinary projects from concept development to final delivery. You will combine technical expertise with leadership, guiding projects, influencing design decisions, and helping shape future solutions.
In this role, you will be involved in a variety of projects and phases -- from early design to delivery.
For some projects, you will take a leading role in mechanical design. In others, your role will be to support, challenge, and help ensure solid technical solutions together with your colleagues.
Responsibilities:
-
Contribute to mechanical design and development of systems and products
-
Take responsibility for technical solutions in parts of projects
-
Support and guide engineers when needed
-
Participate in solving technical challenges related to loads, materials and fabrication
-
Contribute to quality, structure and good engineering practices
-
Collaborate with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
We believe you will succeed if you have:
-
A degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc/MSc)
-
Extensive experience in mechanical design and engineering
-
Experience from marine, offshore, aquaculture, lifting and handling, or related industries
-
Strong understanding of engineering principles, calculations, fabrication methods, and materials
-
Experience with classification societies and relevant industry standards
-
Ability to take ownership of technical decisions and drive projects forward
-
A practical and structured approach to engineering challenges
-
Good communication skills in Norwegian and English
We are looking for someone who:
-
Is comfortable taking ownership and making decisions
-
Values collaboration and seeks input when solving complex problems
-
Enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues
-
Contributes to a positive and solution-oriented working environment
Location
The position is preferably based at our headquarters in Ulsteinvik, where our main engineering and production environment is located.
For the right candidate, we are also open to a position at our office in Tønsberg.
Why join Evotec? At Evotec, you will work in a multidisciplinary environment where engineers are close to both design and production. This creates a short path from idea to finished solution and gives engineers real influence on the final product.
We offer:
-
Challenging and varied work in a growing international company
-
Opportunities to influence the development of innovative technology and products
-
A strong professional environment with experienced and supportive colleagues
-
Attractive employee and family welfare arrangements
-
Excellent opportunities for professional and personal development
