What you'll be doing

As our Senior Software Developer / Tech Lead, you'll play a key role in both developing and shaping our hospitality technology. You'll work hands-on with our products while helping drive technical decisions, assist with architectural decisions and enforce engineering standards across the team. The role combines software development with technical leadership and close collaboration with colleagues and customers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing scalable software solutions, backend services and integrations

• Contributing to architectural discussions and acting as a technical decision-maker in the team

• Mentoring developers and driving code quality and engineering best practices

• Supporting sprint planning, technical scoping and prioritisation

• Taking responsibility for code reviews and quality control

• Collaborating with Product, Operations, customers and other stakeholders to turn needs into reliable technical solutions

• Assist with system design for new features, maintenance and impact of customer request

• Working with internal company teams to standardise coding tools and systems

• You will take owner ship of working with emerging technologies such as digital keys , advanced kiosk hardware integrations, and other solutions that connect software with physical guest experiences

• You will also have the opportunity to work closely with our System Architect to design and build security focused solutions

  Tech stack At Convene Hospitality, our core stack includes TypeScript, Node.js with Express, React, Next.js, and React Native . We also maintain a native Android application with components written in Java and Kotlin . Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based development is beneficial.

What you'll bring

You are an experienced developer who enjoys taking ownership, solving complex problems and collaborating with others. You don't need to have held a formal Tech Lead title, but you are comfortable providing technical direction, making decisions and supporting other developers.

• Strong software development experience, particularly within backend development and integrations

• Experience with cloud-based solutions and modern software architecture

• The ability to balance delivery with quality, security and maintainability

• A collaborative mindset and strong problem-solving skills

Location

This is primarily an on-site role , with the flexibility to work remotely one day per week
