German/English Tour Guide Voss 2027 - February to December.

As a German/English Tour Guide in Voss for the 2027 season, you’ll be right in the middle of fjords, mountains, and cruise guests who are excited to explore Norway. This role is ideal if you like guiding others, staying active, and helping visitors fall a little bit in love with this part of the world.

You will help guests discover Voss and the surrounding areas, including Eidfjord, Flåm and Vik, from iconic landscapes to local traditions. Your energy, reliability, and clear communication will make guests feel welcome, safe, and entertained from the first “hello” to the final “thank you”.

What you will do

In this role, you are the main link between guests and their Norwegian experience – the person they remember when they think back on their trip. You’ll guide groups from cruise ships, tour operators, and independent travelers, making sure they get the best out of their time in Voss, Eidfjord, Flåm and Vik. Expect varied days, different routes, and a mix of cultures and languages.

You will handle both the practical and the storytelling parts of guiding, blending useful information with engaging narratives. Your mission is simple: happy guests, smooth tours, and a professional, fun experience all season long.

• Guide German- and English-speaking groups on planned tours, sharing knowledge about local nature, culture and history
• Welcome guests, give clear instructions, and keep groups together and safe throughout the tour
• Adapt tours to group needs, weather and time frames while maintaining a high-quality experience
• Manage practical logistics such as meeting points, timekeeping and cooperation with drivers and tour operators
• Answer guest questions, offer local tips and contribute to a strong overall customer experience
• Share feedback with the team after tours and help improve routes, scripts and routines over time

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who genuinely likes people, can stay calm when things get busy, and feels comfortable speaking in front of a crowd. You don’t need to know every detail of Norwegian history from day one, but you should be curious, willing to learn and interested in nature and culture. If you are reliable, flexible and enjoy taking responsibility, this will suit you well.

You should be ready for seasonal work from February to December in Voss herad, with changing schedules and varied assignments across Voss, Eidfjord, Flåm and Vik. This is a great job if you like combining work with fresh air, movement and daily contact with international guests.

• 1 year of experience from guiding, tourism, hospitality, customer service or similar
• Strong communication skills and confidence speaking in front of groups
• Good English skills and very good German skills for guiding international guests
• Comfort working outdoors in different weather and walking during parts of the tours
• A practical mindset with a strong focus on safety, punctuality and clear instructions
• A positive, respectful and inclusive attitude towards guests and colleagues from different backgrounds
