OptoScale has developed an industry-leading computer vision system, creating a paradigm shift in aquaculture. Our product, the Bioscope, is a stereoscopic underwater camera device with onboard computing and integrated software systems. It continuously processes and transmits large volumes of data from thousands of fish every day.

To meet the growing demand for our technology, we are seeking a skilled and service-minded Service Engineer who can ensure reliable software and system performance in the field.

The role

As a Service Engineer at OptoScale, you will be the technical point of contact for everything related to Linux, networking, and software in our systems -- both internally and externally. You will report to the Team Lead Service and Maintenance, and collaborate across departments to make sure our customers and partners get efficient and high-quality support. The role will also involve some travel to customer sites and to our workshops abroad when needed.

Your responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to customers, partners, and colleagues in sales, customer success and operations
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to Linux, networking, software, and system communication
• Work with development teams to improve system quality and reliability
• Share knowledge and best practices within the service & maintenance team

Whether you’re troubleshooting in the office or out on a customer site, you bring a positive, solution-focused mindset and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical people.

To both thrive and excel in this role, we think it's an advantage if you check a few of these boxes:

• A bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, IT, or another relevant field. A vocational certificate (fagbrev) in ICT or equivalent may also be considered
• At least 3 years of relevant experience
• Solid knowledge of Linux operating systems
• Experience in networking
• Skills in IT, communication, and ideally some familiarity with electronics
• Fluent in English and strong skills in Norwegian (Spanish is a plus)
