Your tasks

Follow real-time drilling operations for the Berling development campaign
Work alongside geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers and drilling engineers in the Operations & Geosteering Room in Stavanger
Participate in geological interpretation and well correlation using live drilling and logging data
Support geosteering activities on horizontal development wells and observe operational decision-making in real time
Update geological and geophysical interpretations as new subsurface data becomes available
Assist with well planning, operational geology and subsurface evaluations
Contribute to post-well reviews and lessons learned activities
Gain hands-on experience with industry-standard subsurface software, including Petrel

Your profile

You are studying for a Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Geoscience or a related discipline
You are eager to learn from and support a multidisciplinary Subsurface team
You have a strong interest in drilling operations and subsurface interpretation
You enjoy solving technical challenges and working with data
You like to work in a structured and collaborative way
You are interested in integrating geology, geophysics and engineering to support field development
Students who are currently pursuing their Master's degree will have first-tier consideration for our summer student vacancies
You are fluent in English

What we can offer

Working with OMV during the summer of 2027 will give you almost eight weeks of “hands on” working program to help you develop your know-how as well as your soft skills such as collaboration, leadership, communication, presentation skills, planning and time management
As a summer intern working with the company, you'll get a chance to know us and see how we conduct business either on a particular project or within our core organization
You will be able to assist us with activities in your area of expertise, and you will have a lot of fun with your colleagues at work contributing to great projects
You will work with experienced and professional colleagues in multiple disciplines who will guide and support you throughout your summer internship with OMV Norge AS
Your exact assignment will be decided based on our business needs and depending on your field of study, as well as your interests
You will be allocated to several buddies over the summer who will provide you with support and follow your experience in OMV Norge AS
Start-up for the position will be summer 2027
Only applicants with valid right to work in Norway will be considered (P or D-number)
