Strategic Procurement Leadership in a Global Tech Company

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to lead our European procurement activities for the Secondary Gas-Insulated Switchgear (SGIS) business. Based in Skien (with flexibility for some work from Fornebu/Oslo), you will lead an international team of Procurement Specialists at two of our sites, in Norway and Poland. Together, you will ensure that ABB’s suppliers and sourcing strategies meet future demands – with particular focus on the industry’s SF6-free transition.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Lead, develop and inspire a European procurement team, ensuring strong collaboration and high performance.
• Define and implement sourcing strategies that secure competitiveness, supplier reliability and sustainability.
• Align procurement activities with SGIS business goals, engaging stakeholders across Europe.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, driving improvements in cost, quality, delivery and risk management.
• Ensure effective use of SAP Ariba and ABB’s global procurement frameworks.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and integrity across all procurement processes.
• Collaborate actively with colleagues from other factories worldwide as well with the global procurement team
• Ensure full compliance of procurement activities with ABB internal control standards and regulatory requirements.

What we are looking for

We are seeking a candidate with a strategic mindset, proven leadership skills and international procurement experience. You likely bring:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or similar.
• Strong experience in strategic procurement and supplier management.
• Solid leadership skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams.
• Experience from complex, international business environments.
• Excellent communication skills in English (Norwegian is an advantage).
• Familiarity with SAP Ariba is a plus.
