Site Reliability Engineer

Monil is building world-leading technology for virtual fencing and livestock monitoring. In just three years, we’ve grown to thousands of customers and tens of thousands collars in active use across multiple markets. We are now entering a new phase of international growth — and the scalability and reliability of our backend platform will be critical to our success.

Our technology is trusted by forward-thinking farmers, research institutions, and agricultural organizations across several countries. Every day, thousands of animals rely on our systems running smoothly.

Our devices collect large amounts of real-time data from animals in the field. We process, analyze, and transform this data into actionable insights that improve animal welfare, farming efficiency, and sustainability. Behind this is a modern, cloud-based backend platform built for performance, resilience, and scale.

We're now looking for a Site Reliability Engineer who wants to help us build a reliable platform, scaling across the globe.

What we're looking for

• Strong experience with AWS and Kubernetes

• Experience with building and maintaining CD pipelines and deployment strategies

• Experience running and maintaining PostgreSQL databases

• Experience with networks

• Experience with monitoring and alerting using tools such as Prometheus and OpenTelemetry

Bonus points for

• Fluency in Norwegian (preferred, but we make exceptions for the exceptional)

• Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment

• Large PostgreSQL databases

• Terraform, ArgoCD, LinkerD, Alloy, Tempo and more
