Design electronics that ship and scale

We're looking for anelectronics engineer who can take full ownership of schematics, layout, bring-up, and certification. Someone who designs with compliance, thermal limits, and real-world production in mind, and works tightly with embedded, mechanical, and product teams to make it all fit together.

The mission

You’ll take shared ownership of the full electronics system in Starflow’s energy products, from early architecture through schematic, layout, bring-up, and certification. Together with Nikolai, you’ll work across power conversion (AC/DC and DC/DC), wireless and wired communication, sensors, user interface, and integration with embedded software, all inside compact, sealed enclosures with tough thermal and mechanical limits. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role where your decisions directly shape what ships.

• **Design electronics that can ship -**Create full schematics and layouts for production. Meet tough constraints for power, signal, thermal, EMC, and space, and deliver boards that are buildable, testable, and ready for scaling.

• **Keep quality high, even under pressure -**Run structured reviews, maintain clear version control, and document design decisions as you go. Make sure schematics and layouts are easy to follow, easy to review, and easy to pick up when someone else needs to step in.

• **Make certification part of the design -**Plan for EMC, CE, and safety early, not after layout is done. Build in pre-compliance thinking and smart layout strategies that give the product a real chance of passing in the lab the first time.

• **Bring up boards and fix what breaks -**Work side-by-side with embedded to bring up boards, debug interfaces, and make sure the hardware actually works in the real world.

• **Build a platform, not just a board -**Document architecture, decisions, and tests so others can pick up your work and move fast. Your structure helps us scale the team, pass audits, and keep quality up when timelines get tight.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who’s taken full ownership of electronics that went into the real world. Not just a schematic, but the full chain from architecture to layout to bring-up and debug. This is not a solo mission either. You’ll be working side-by-side with Nikolai, our Principal Electronics Engineer, and together you’ll own the electronics platform for Starflow’s energy system. That means shared decisions, structured reviews, and designs that others can understand, test, and build on.

Must haves

• Has taken full ownership of PCB development from architecture and component selection to layout, bring up, and production release

• Designed electronics with certification in mind and understands how layout and parts affect EMC, CE, and safety testing

• Uses structured reviews, version control, and documentation as part of everyday engineering work

Nice to haves

• Experience working with external labs to pass certification tests

• Comfortable designing electronics for sealed, thermally constrained enclosures

• Used to collaborating closely with embedded, mechanical, and product teams from concept to release
