Facility Manager

We are looking for a hands-on and structured Facility Manager to take ownership of our new production facility --- from the initial setup and installation of equipment and infrastructure to the ongoing operation, maintenance and development of the site.

This is a key role in a growing company where you will have a high level of ownership and the opportunity to build the facility function and its routines from the ground up.

You will work closely with Production, HSE, Quality, IT, Engineering and external contractors and suppliers to make sure our new facility is ready for production and continues to operate safely, efficiently and reliably.

The role is particularly important during our transition to the new facility. You will coordinate and support the practical work required to establish the production environment, including installations, infrastructure, production areas, equipment and technical systems.

Key Responsibilities

New Facility Setup & Production Installation

• Take ownership of the practical setup and preparation of the new production facility.

• Coordinate the move-in, installation and commissioning of production-related infrastructure and equipment.

• Work closely with Production and Engineering to define and prepare production areas, workstations, storage areas and supporting facilities.

• Coordinate contractors, technicians, suppliers and other external parties involved in the setup of the facility.

• Support installation of technical systems, machinery, ventilation, electrical infrastructure, compressed air, lighting and other production-related systems.

• Ensure that equipment and infrastructure are installed, tested and ready for safe use.

• Coordinate practical tasks related to moving production equipment and establishing new production areas.

• Identify issues during the setup phase and make sure they are followed up and resolved.

• Support future expansions, modifications and improvement projects as the production grows.

Facility Operations & Maintenance

• Take overall responsibility for the daily operation and maintenance of the building, technical installations and external areas.

• Plan and follow up preventive and corrective maintenance.

• Establish and maintain maintenance plans, routines and technical documentation.

• Coordinate external service providers, contractors, maintenance companies and service agreements.

• Ensure that facility-related issues are identified and resolved efficiently.

• Monitor the condition and performance of technical systems and infrastructure.

• Support cost-effective management of energy, utilities and other facility-related resources.

• Develop practical routines for facility inspections, maintenance and reporting.

Production Support

• Work closely with Production to ensure that the facility supports efficient and uninterrupted production.

• Respond to facility-related problems that affect production and coordinate their resolution.

• Support installation and relocation of production equipment as production capacity increases.

• Help plan and implement changes to production areas, layouts and infrastructure.

• Coordinate facility work around production schedules to minimize disruption.

• Work with Production, HSE and Quality to ensure that new installations and changes are safe and suitable for production.

HSE, Compliance & Documentation

• Support compliance with requirements related to HSE, fire safety, building safety and technical installations.

• Coordinate inspections, maintenance and required documentation related to the facility.

• Maintain technical documentation, service records, maintenance schedules and relevant certificates.

• Support emergency preparedness and handling of technical incidents.

• Identify facility-related risks and implement appropriate improvements.

• Cooperate with HSE and Quality on facility-related risk assessments and improvement measures.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who combines technical understanding with a practical, hands-on approach.

You have:

• Experience from Facility Management, technical operations, property management, industrial production or a similar environment.

• Experience coordinating technical projects, installations, contractors or facility-related work.

• A technical education such as a trade certificate, technical college or higher education is an advantage, but relevant practical experience can compensate.

• Good understanding of technical building systems such as ventilation, electrical systems, heating, cooling, automation or similar.

• Experience working with external suppliers, contractors and service providers.

• Understanding of HSE, internal control and relevant regulations.

• Good digital skills; experience with CMMS or other maintenance systems is an advantage.

• The ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate several activities at the same time.

• A willingness to be hands-on and involved in practical work when needed.

Languages

• Good English, both written and spoken.

• Norwegian is an advantage.
