About the positions
We are currently seeking two SFO (after-school care) assistants who can contribute to the development of SFO at BISS Gausel. The two positions are part-time and permanent. The positions are available from June 2025.
- One 54% position - working hours during term time (38 weeks) 07:15 - 08:45 plus 14:45 - 16:45, four days a week and 07:45 - 08:45 plus 13:45 - 16:45 one day a week (18.5 hours); and, during school holiday SFO (6 weeks) 08:00 -16:00 five days a week (40 hours).
- One 40% position - working hours during term time (38 weeks) 14:45 - 16:45 four days a week and 13:45 - 16:45 one day a week (11 hours); and, during school holiday SFO (6 weeks) 08:00 -16:00 five days a week. (40 hours).
The school holidays with SFO are in February, June, August, and October.
SFO is closed for the school holidays during Easter, Christmas and for the whole month of July.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Caring for the children in SFO. This can include caring for children with special needs with the other members the SFO Team
- Implementing SFO activities as directed by the SFO leader
- Contributing to the planning of the before and after school SFO activity programme
- Communicating effectively with the children, the school administration and parents
Skills and experience
The following skills and experience are an advantage:
- Relevant experience in an educational setting
- Good collaboration and communication skills
- Able to handle difficult child-centred situations and provide emotional support
- Ability to act confidently and set clear boundaries
- Able to create good relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
- Good English skills (minimum B1)
- Experience working in an international environment
- An ability to take initiative and contribute to the development of SFO
