What does the job involve?
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Protection and Event Security Leader to oversee and manage our executive protection and event security programs. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in leading security personnel and effectively utilizing suppliers to ensure the security of executives and events. The role will be responsible for planning and preparation, team deliveries and continuous improvement of the capability. When the executive protection and event security programs are flourishing, this role will be evaluated to potentially take on further key responsibilities in Equinor’s security and crisis management operations.
What will my tasks be?
Within this position, your key tasks will be to:
Leadership and Management:-
Lead and manage a team of executive protection and event security personnel, including contracted services globally.

Develop and implement executive protection and event security policies, procedures, and protocols according to best practice.

Provide training and development opportunities for company-wide security staff to ensure high performance and adherence to best practices.

Responsible for delivery of all aspects of executive protection, including trip planning, advance work, close protection, and residential security.

Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., executive office staff, business area senior leaders) and external security firms to ensure seamless protection services.

Conduct threat assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate potential risks.

Plan and execute security measures for corporate events, ensuring the safety of attendees and executives.

Collaborate with the Corporate Events team and business areas to review and assess security needs for global events.

Manage relationships with security vendors to provide necessary event security services.

Evaluate, select, and manage key security vendors, including security drivers, protective services, and medical support.

Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure vendor performance meets company standards.

Maintain effective communication and collaboration with suppliers to optimize security operations.

Liaise with relevant government agencies and other public safety organizations as needed.

Work closely with the Global Security team to support site security, risk intelligence, and investigations.

Develop and maintain partnerships with data and technology providers to enhance protective intelligence capabilities.

Qualifications:-
Minimum 15 years of experience in law enforcement, national security, corporate security, or a related field.

Fluent in Norwegian and English, both written and orally.

Extensive experience in executive protection, threat assessment, and security program management.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and in high-stress environments.

Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Protection Professional, Personal Protection Specialist) are a plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Familiarity with the latest security technologies and trends.

Experience in managing security for high-profile events.
