Ship Classification covers Classification and Statutory services and provides governance, support, and development of our global work processes Newbuilding, Certification of Machinery and Components, and Fleet in Service, in addition to carrying out approval within these processes. Ship Classification is the backbone of the Maritime Business consisting of 5 technical units: Approval, Technical Support, Class Development, Quality, HSE and Class Services, and Regulatory Affairs.
Technical Support in Ship Classification provides global support and governance to all DNV’s regions in their daily operation and survey of vessels. We cover all technical disciplines which are relevant for vessels in operation and their needs. Our units are strategically located in Asia, Europe, and America allowing us to provide 24/7 service to our customers via remote surveys and DATE® service.
We are primarily looking for a graduate who wants to join the Maritime Business and we are seeking a skillful, curious, and agile graduate for our ERS, Hull and Materials section located in Høvik.
What to expect as a Graduate in Ship Classification, ERS, Hull and Materials?
You will:
-
Be a team member in small to medium sized cross discipline projects.
-
Be a team leader for smaller projects working together with 2-3 colleagues. Typically, in areas where you are a subject matter expert.
-
handle technical support cases related to technical topics or work processes and apply learning from this to make proposals for improvements.
-
work within existing teams and organizational structures to deliver business outcomes and change.
-
work across organizational structures, linking with experts from other disciplines, to deliver business outcomes and change.
Training and support will be given to help you settle in your new role.
Who are we looking for?
We are interested in hearing from candidates who finalize their degree in spring 2026. We are primarily hiring a candidate with relevant university degree in a topic related to the work of DNV Maritime.
