What you'll do

As an Assistant Underwriter, you will start by learning the ropes before gradually contributing to your team’s underwriting activities. You will be provided with all the training and knowledge needed to become a solid, competent underwriter. During this training period, you will learn how to perform such tasks as registering risks, handling documents, as well as updating policies when conditions have changed.You will have plenty of contact with our network of brokers and clients, so you can look forward to building great business relationships right away. After a while, you will be armed with the know-how, skills and relationships needed to work independently with both existing and potential clients as part of our dynamic, international team.

Who we're looking for

We are after a ‘people person’ who really enjoys building relationships, while also possessing the analytical skills, curiosity, integrity and drive needed to build a successful career in marine insurance.

We are after someone who is:

• Self-driven, motivated and enthusiastic

• A real team player with a positive attitude

• Good at understanding facts and figures

• Good at problem solving, especially as part of a team

• Able to demonstrate a commercial mindset

• Keen to build new relationships - a person who can really ‘connect’

• Good in English and Norwegian, both verbal and written

• Educated to at least Bachelor level in a business-relevant subject

Location

The location for these positions, either Bergen or Oslo, will be based on the circumstances of the successful applicants and the future development of the Underwriting team.
